Notice on the Arrangement of Some Public Holidays

Governments of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and all ministries and directly affiliated institutions of the State Council:
With the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, in accordance with the "Measures for Holidays and Memorial Days Nationwide" revised in November 2024, starting from January 1, 2025, all citizens' holidays will be increased by 2 days. Among them, the Spring Festival and Labor Day will each have an additional 1 day. Based on this, the principles for holiday arrangements have been further optimized and improved. Except for some special circumstances, the Spring Festival will start its holiday and adjustment from the eve of the Lunar New Year, lasting for 8 days. The National Day will start its holiday and adjustment from October 1st, lasting for 7 days. The Labor Day will have a holiday and adjustment of 5 days. The New Year's Day, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival will each have a holiday and adjustment of 3 days (if it falls on a Wednesday, it will only be given a holiday on that day). If the National Day falls on the Mid-Autumn Festival, the two will be combined for a 8-day holiday.
According to the above principles, the specific arrangements for the holiday and rest dates for New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day in 2025 are hereby notified as follows.
1. New Year's Day: January 1st (Wednesday) is a holiday for one day, without making up the day off.
II. Spring Festival: From January 28th (Lunar New Year's Eve, Tuesday) to February 4th (Lunar New Year's Eve, Tuesday), there will be a 8-day holiday with a Monday closing. January 26th (Sunday) and February 8th (Saturday) will be working days.
III. Qingming Festival: The holiday will be from April 4th (Friday) to April 6th (Sunday), totaling 3 days.
IV. Labor Day: There will be a 5-day holiday from May 1st (Thursday) to May 5th (Monday). Work resumes on April 27th (Sunday).
V. Dragon Boat Festival: There will be a holiday from May 31st (Saturday) to June 2nd (Monday), totaling 3 days.
Six. National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival: From October 1st (Wednesday) to October 8th (Wednesday), there will be a 8-day holiday with a Monday off in between. September 28th (Sunday) and October 11th (Saturday) will be working days.
During holidays, all regions and departments should properly arrange their duties, security, protection and epidemic prevention work. In case of any major emergencies, they should report them in accordance with regulations and handle them properly to ensure that the people can enjoy a peaceful and safe holiday.
